Resolutions Checkpoint 2014: May

Happy birthday, brother! And hey there, June. Back at the start of May I made some to-do items for each of my three 2014 resolutions. They are reproduced below, using the following key to track progress:
   Bold = Completed task
   Normal = Not completed :/

-- Progress in May --

I will say first that I definitely didn't make much progress in May. I stopped doing all my routine things once John arrived on the 23rd (spending time together these two weeks is much more important than keeping up with this stuff), and had a delayed start (May 7th) due to being away from home at the start of the month. The "short" length of the month is evident in my small progress, even though I had the time limitations in mind when I made the list last month:

1. Digestive health

  • Research Eastern medicine tours in Korea.
    • Found one at Namsangol Hanok Village when we visited on Saturday, but this year it's not free and you must call to make a reservation. I'll do this on my own once John is back home.
  • Avoid gluten.
    • Tried to do this but still ended up consuming some.

2. Health site

  • Post four times a month, on Tuesdays.
    • I published two posts, though one I backdated to April. I have a third as a draft, which has taken many hours to get it to this point. These posts take much longer to write, as I'm doing research and often find conflicting information. Once I'm on my own again in a week when John flies back, I'll kick it into overdrive and work on those posts until I'm caught up.

3. Non 9-5 work

  • Make investments with the money in my Roth IRA.
  • Read Moz's SEO Beginner's Guide
    • The guide was much shorter than I thought, and I started it right away after posting my May goals, in order to finish reading it before the boy arrived.

And here's my overall progress on those bits and pieces that would be great to accomplish this year as well:
  • Read 32 books this year (2 in Spanish)
    • I've read 14/32 books -- (One in Spanish)
    • I haven't finished a book this month. I think I'll have to stop reading World War Z; I'm 58% through and I have no desire to finish it.
  • Gain strength & muscle, enough that there's a notable difference in a before and after picture
    • I am currently on Day 49 of my Give it 100 project to increase flexibility in my legs. My posting slowed down when I had some technological issues earlier in May, and then I stopped stretching/making movies when the boy got here.
  • Add pull-down tabs to both of my Blogger blogs
  • Walk the Camino de Santiago
    • Decided on the route.
  • Visit Hannah and Herm in London
    • Bought some Korean cutesy goodies to give my London hosts when I visit!
  • Make a Korea bucket list and post it (and do it!)
  • Unplug more often
  • Resume French study
    • Bit of a hiatus this month.
