Thankful Thursday is a weekly segment that began 1/10/13—read why here.
I invite you to join me in practicing gratitude!
I spent the past week in Washington, DC, staying with a college friend who has been living there since we graduated in 2011. I met him via our Madrid study abroad program, and another friend of ours from that same program also lives in DC, so the three of us hung out a lot.
It was so, so refreshing to spend time with them these last couple of days. I realized that even though I left Korea almost five months ago now, working from home and living in a midwest suburb during the winter is its own type of isolation. So it had still been a while since I had both been with a tight group I felt super comfortable around, and met new people through mutual friends—both of which happened a lot during the week.
I'm working on a more complete post about what I gained from going to DC, so for now just know that I'm so thankful these friends graciously hosted me, took me out, and showed me unconditional friend love. They shared their DC knowledge, enthusiasm, and friends, and proved that distance and time haven't changed our admiration for each other.
What are you thankful for this week? When's the last time you reconnected with old friends? Or is there someone you could reconnect with now?
