Resolutions Checkpoint 2017: July

2017 Resolutions Checkpoint July - Rebe With a Clause

If you recall, I was gone for the second half of July, so my action items were quite tame and easily attainable. Here's how it went:

July Progress

1. Leaps
  • (+) Give talk at public library — This went really well and was fun! I even made the paper a few weeks later:
2. Stretch/Pilates
  • (+) Advocate for myself at PT appointment As you might have read, my physical therapist was awesome and the appointment definitely got me motivated to make changes and improve my strength/flexibility.
  • (+) Track stretching in bullet journal — I tracked it all month! Here it is:

And my plank sheet looks like this:
  • Bonus points for stretching while away from home — Bonus points for stretching at my aunt/uncle's and my brother's! I also did my stretches one day at camp in the staff room. Other than that, camp was intense and every minute was filled with taking care of young people.
3. Unplug/be outside
  • (+) Don't take computer along for 2-weeks in MN/LaX  It was excellent. RescueTime even sent me an email while I was away, with the subject line: "RescueTime Warning: No time logged this week!" I even did three watercolor paintings in a single day while visiting my brother.

August Focus

1. Leaps
  • RT projectThis month I'm working on a project with encouragement and support from Meg Kissack via her email accountability program "Get Shit Done!" It's not quite a leap, but it'll set the foundation for future leaps to occur, and will have most of my attention this month.
  • I'm still browsing for jobs as well, so there could be an unknown leap in the coming weeks, depending on what I find.
2. Stretch/Pilates
  • Do PT exercises and/or yoga 25 days of the month; track in bullet journal. — Three days in and I'm pleased with the first three (of ten) yoga videos I purchased last month, which are specific to people with spinal fusions. Here's where I'm tracking it:

This now feels like my priority each day.

3. Unplug/be outside
  • Play guitar once per week.I haven't been picking it up as much as I'd like to be.
  • Read five books.
  • At least two creative sessions/week.This should be easy to hit... this week already I made a birthday card on Wednesday while a friend was over for an artsy afternoon, had a blast making a "magazine playground" yesterday and painting in it today (post to follow), plus this weekend is a Moment Catchers weekend—meaning I'll be sketching and painting with watercolors.
